Where a customer stands
Ugo finds the contact or company and tells you the linked opportunities, quotations and orders, with amounts and status.
The simplest way to use Odoo from WhatsApp is Ugo, an AI assistant with its own WhatsApp number: on the Ugo portal you enter your Odoo address, your user and an API key, and from then on you ask it about customers, opportunities and quotations in the chat. Contacts, notes, activities and stage changes only go ahead once you confirm.
Odoo holds your customers, opportunities, quotations and orders together, but on a phone it’s awkward: menus, filters, views to switch. When you’re with a client or in the car, you need a quick answer, not business software to navigate.
With Ugo you ask in the chat “what quotations have I got open with Smith & Sons?” or “how’s the pipeline looking?” and get the answer in a few lines, with a link to open the record in Odoo. After a visit you dictate the note or the next activity: Ugo shows you what it’s about to write and waits for your “Confirm”.
It takes a few minutes. You do the first two steps only once, then you connect as many apps as you like.
Sign up at app.ciaougo.com with your email and password and enter your company name.
In Settings → WhatsApp, generate a code and send it in a chat to Ugo’s number: from then on Ugo recognises your number.
On the Ugo portal, open Skills and tap “Connect Odoo”.
In Odoo, click your picture (top right) → My Profile or Preferences → Account Security → New API Key. You can also use your password, but the key is safer.
Your Odoo address, your login email and the API key. Ugo finds the database by itself when it can; otherwise your Odoo administrator can tell you. Tap “Check and save”: Ugo checks straight away that the login works.
Send “How’s the pipeline looking?” in your chat with Ugo: if it replies with your opportunities, the connection works.
Ugo finds the contact or company and tells you the linked opportunities, quotations and orders, with amounts and status.
It summarises opportunities by stage, with values and upcoming deadlines, and tells you which one is closest to closing.
It reminds you of calls, emails and meetings that are due, and schedules new ones once you confirm.
It adds notes, creates contacts and opportunities, moves opportunities to another stage or marks them as won or lost, always after your “Confirm”.
What quotations have I got open with Smith & Sons?
You’ve got 2 open quotations with Smith & Sons: • S00412, €4,200, sent on 3 October • S00427, €1,150, draft
Remind me to call them back on Thursday about S00412
I’ll schedule a call in Odoo for Thursday on Smith & Sons: “Call back about quotation S00412”. Shall I go ahead?
Ugo isn’t the only option. Here are the most common alternatives, and when they make sense.

Recent versions of Odoo Enterprise have a WhatsApp Business integration to send messages to customers from approved templates. It’s for writing to customers, not for checking and updating Odoo from your phone.
Odoo works on mobile too, but you navigate it as on a computer: menus, filters and forms to fill in.
Odoo doesn’t offer a direct connection for checking your business software from WhatsApp. Ugo costs €50 a month per person (or €550 a year), excl. VAT, with Odoo and every other app included.

No. Contacts, opportunities, notes, activities and stage changes are shown to you first, and Ugo only saves them after you tap “Confirm”. It works with your Odoo user’s permissions.
It’s stored encrypted. When you disconnect Odoo from the portal, Ugo deletes the login details; in Odoo you can also delete the key from the Account Security section.
Create your account, link your number and switch on Odoo from the portal. Every app is included in the subscription.
