A number or an email in seconds
Search by first name, surname, company or email, even if you only remember the surname.
WhatsApp shows the contacts on your phone, but doesn’t let you ask questions of your Google contacts. With Ugo, an AI assistant with its own WhatsApp number, you sign in with your Google account on the portal and ask it in the chat for the number, email or address of whoever you need. Ugo reads your contacts but never changes them.
You need a supplier’s email while you’re in the car, or the mobile of a client’s purchasing manager: your contacts have it, but searching on your phone, among duplicates and half-written names, is a waste of time.
By connecting Google Contacts to WhatsApp with Ugo, a name is all it takes: “Paul Walker’s mobile?”, “who do I know at Taylor Engineering?”. And when you ask Ugo to write to someone, it takes the right address or number from your contacts itself.
It takes a few minutes. You do the first two steps only once, then you connect as many apps as you like.
Sign up at app.ciaougo.com with your email and password and enter your company name.
In Settings → WhatsApp, generate a code and send it in a chat to Ugo’s number: from then on Ugo recognises your number.
On the Ugo portal, open Skills and tap Connect on the Google Contacts card.
Choose your Google account and allow Ugo to read your contacts. Access is read-only.
Ask for a contact’s number in your chat with Ugo: if it sends it to you, the connection works.
Search by first name, surname, company or email, even if you only remember the surname.
Ask for all your contacts at a company, with role, phone, email and address.
With the Email skill or your WhatsApp Business switched on, Ugo takes the address or number to write to from your contacts.
A number you don’t recognise just called you? Ask Ugo whose it is: it looks for it among your contacts.
Who do I know at Taylor Engineering?
You’ve got 2 contacts at Taylor Engineering: • Paul Walker, purchasing: +44 7700 900123, paul.walker@taylorengineering.co.uk • Sarah Hughes, accounts: sarah.hughes@taylorengineering.co.uk
Email Paul: I’ll drop by tomorrow at 10 with the samples
Sending to paul.walker@taylorengineering.co.uk: “Hi Paul, I’ll drop by tomorrow at 10 with the samples. See you then.” Shall I send it?
Ugo isn’t the only option. Here are the most common alternatives, and when they make sense.
If your phone syncs contacts with Google, WhatsApp already shows them, but to find an email or who works at a company you have to open the Contacts app.
It’s the right place to add and correct contacts, which Ugo doesn’t do, but to search you have to leave WhatsApp.
If contacts need to be shared with the team and updated often, a CRM is a better fit than an address book. Ugo also connects to HubSpot, Odoo, Zoho CRM and Agile CRM.
Google and WhatsApp don’t offer a way to query your contacts from the chat. Ugo costs €50 a month per person (or €550 a year), excl. VAT, with Google Contacts and every other app included.
No. The skill is read-only: Ugo finds numbers, emails and addresses, but doesn’t create, change or delete contacts.
No. Google Contacts is a personal skill: you connect it with your own account and only you can ask Ugo about your contacts.
No. Ugo reads the contacts in your Google account, not your phone’s. If your phone syncs contacts with Google, you’ll find them there too.
Create your account, link your number and switch on Google Contacts from the portal. Every app is included in the subscription.
