The app for dog walkers and pet sitters that lives on WhatsApp

Group walks in the morning, drop-in visits for the cats, a dog boarding with you at the weekend. Ugo keeps your clients’ calendar, works out the quickest route, updates owners from your WhatsApp Business and remembers every pet’s habits.

An app for dog walkers and pet sitters has to work with a lead in one hand and your phone in the other. That’s why Ugo works on WhatsApp: you text it or send a voice note, and it uses the calendar, documents and work number you’ve connected. Whether you do walks, drop-in visits for cats and rabbits or home boarding, the problem is always the same: lots of clients, different keys, times that change with the owners’ holidays.

Ugo reads your calendar and creates new bookings when you tell it “Rex Saturday and Sunday, two walks a day”. It works out the route from one client to the next with live traffic, reminds you that Luna only eats her own kibble and that Oliver the cat hides under the bed. After a walk you dictate a voice note and it drafts the update for the owner, which goes out from your WhatsApp Business once you confirm.

One thing Ugo doesn’t do: give veterinary advice. If an animal is unwell, the right person is its vet, and Ugo helps you find their number in the pet’s profile in seconds. The same goes for medicines and diets: Ugo reminds you of what the owner wrote in the profile, but it never decides anything on their behalf or the vet’s. You stay the trusted person; it takes the remembering and the admin off your hands.

Everyday problems for dog walkers and pet sitters

The animals are the best part. The logistics, a bit less so.

Long, badly ordered rounds

Five dogs in four neighbourhoods, a cat to feed mid-morning. Get the order of visits wrong and you lose half an hour in the car, and the last dog’s walk ends up shorter than it should be.

Habits to remember for every pet

Who pulls on the lead, who doesn’t get on with other males, who takes a tablet in their food as the vet told the owner. Keeping it all in your head with twenty clients is impossible.

Owners who want news

Anyone away for a week wants to know their dog is eating and doing well. Writing each of them a proper message between walks takes more time than it seems.

Bookings that come in waves

Bank holidays, Christmas, the summer holidays: everyone goes away at once and boarding fills up. Without a clear calendar you risk taking two incompatible dogs on the same weekend, or having no room for a long-standing client.

What Ugo does for a dog walker

Examples from an ordinary week of walks, visits and boarding.

Your walking round in the right order

Give Ugo the morning’s addresses and it suggests the quickest order, with journey times by car or on foot based on current traffic. If it rains and you change plans, it recalculates in seconds.

Skills used

Ugoonline
  1. This morning I’m going to 8 Victoria Road, 120 Harrogate Road and 3 Grove Lane, starting from home on Otley Road. Best order by car?

  2. With current traffic, go: 1. Otley Road → 3 Grove Lane: 6 min 2. Grove Lane → 120 Harrogate Road: 9 min 3. Harrogate Road → 8 Victoria Road: 14 min About 29 minutes’ driving in total. The other way round would take 38.

Every pet’s profile, always to hand

Keep a document for each animal on Google Drive: food, routine, temperament, keys, usual vet. Ugo reads it when you ask and updates it with the changes you dictate, so you don’t rely on memory.

Skills used

Ugoonline
  1. What do I need to know about Luna before I go in?

  2. From the profile “Luna – Bennett”: • 11-year-old Labrador, very calm • Lunch at 12:00: 150 g of her own kibble, nothing else • Keys: with the concierge, ask for Mark • Don’t leave her alone in the garden, she digs under the fence • Usual vet: Meadow Vets, number in the profile

  3. Add that from today her walk is 30 minutes, the owner asked

  4. I’ll add this to Luna’s profile, Walks section: “From 12 October, 30-minute walk, at the owner’s request.” Shall I go ahead?

The update for the owner

After the visit, send a voice note about how it went. Ugo turns it into a clear message and sends it to the owner from your WhatsApp Business, after you confirm. You keep sending the photos yourself, as always.

Skills used

Ugoonline
  1. 🎤 Voice message (0:21)

  2. Here’s the message for George Turner: “Hi George, visit done. Oliver ate the whole pouch, I cleaned the litter tray and changed his water. He hid at first, then came out for a cuddle. See you tomorrow at 9.” Shall I send it from your WhatsApp Business?

Boarding bookings

When requests come in for a bank holiday weekend, ask Ugo who’s already boarding with you on those days. It reads the calendar and the profiles, flags any incompatibilities you’ve noted and creates the new booking with arrival and departure dates.

Skills used

Ugoonline
  1. Who’s boarding from 31 October to 2 November? Mrs Hughes would like to bring Ares

  2. On those days you already have: • Rex (German Shepherd), 30/10 to 3/11 • Pepper (Jack Russell), 31/10 to 2/11 In Rex’s profile you wrote “doesn’t live with entire males”: check with Mrs Hughes what Ares is like. If it’s fine, shall I create “Boarding – Ares (Hughes)” from 31/10 to 2/11?

A pet sitter’s day with Ugo

From the first walk at dawn to the last visit of the evening.

  1. 6:45

Scheduled task: Ugo sends you the day’s walks and visits, with addresses and notes about keys.

  2. 7:10

You ask for the best order for the morning round: three dogs, two neighbourhoods, traffic already heavy.

  3. 10:30

After the group walk, a voice note for each owner: Ugo drafts the messages and you confirm them one by one.

  4. 13:00

A client messages about the February half term: you ask who’s boarding that week and create the booking.

  5. 17:30

Before visiting Oliver you ask for his profile: where the pouches are and how the balcony door locks.

  6. 21:00

You dictate the day’s news and Ugo updates the pets’ profiles on Drive.

Tools for dog walkers to connect to Ugo

A few tools, well kept: that’s all you need.

Pet profiles on Google Drive

A “Clients” folder with one document per animal. You can start from a template with placeholders like {{name}} and {{owner}}: Ugo fills it in for each new client and then updates it with the news you dictate.

Your walks and boarding calendar

Google Calendar or Outlook, with one colour for walks, one for visits and one for boarding. Ugo reads it all and creates new bookings; if one that’s already booked changes, you move it yourself in the calendar.

Services and prices on your website

If you have a website with your services, the areas you cover and your prices, Ugo learns it with the Company websites skill: when a new client asks for information, it drafts the reply with the right details.

Your visit log in Excel

A sheet on OneDrive with date, pet, service and duration. Ugo adds a row for every visit you dictate and gives you a summary per client at the end of the month.

FAQ for dog walkers and pet sitters

What’s the best dog walking app for managing clients and bookings?

The one you actually use when you’re in the park. Many dog walkers start with a calendar and chats and get lost once they have more than ten clients. Ugo keeps your calendar, pet profiles and messages to owners together inside WhatsApp, using your Google Calendar or Outlook: no new software to learn.

How do I plan a walking round with several dogs?

Group dogs by area and temperament, keep apart the ones that don’t get on and order your stops by real travel times, not distance as the crow flies. With Ugo you type the addresses and it suggests the quickest order with live traffic, by car, on foot or by bike.

Can Ugo tell me what to do if a dog is unwell?

No. Ugo doesn’t give veterinary advice or make diagnoses. If an animal isn’t well, call the vet the owner gave you or, in an emergency, an emergency vet. Ugo can help you in that moment by quickly finding the number in the pet’s profile or, with Maps, nearby veterinary practices with address and phone number.

What should go in a pet profile?

The practical information: name, age, breed, food and feeding times, temperament with people and other animals, vet’s instructions passed on by the owner, keys and access, owner’s and vet’s numbers. With Ugo the profile is a Google Drive document that it reads and updates when you ask, only in the folder you choose.

Can I send updates to owners from my work number?

Yes, with the WhatsApp Business skill. Ugo writes the message, shows it to you and sends it from your number only after you confirm. If the owner hasn’t messaged you for more than 24 hours, WhatsApp requires a fixed template, so the text starts with “Message from” followed by your name and your business.

How much does Ugo cost for a pet sitter?

€50 a month or €550 a year, excl. VAT. The price is per person and includes every skill: calendar, Drive, Excel, maps, WhatsApp Business and voice messages. You don’t pay by the number of pets or clients, so the busy summer holidays don’t cost you anything extra.

More time in the park, less in the chats

Connect your calendar, Drive and WhatsApp Business and try Ugo with tomorrow morning’s round.
